One peculiarity of BP Chan's Family form is a transitional movement between Hi Pat the Horse and the following posture of Separate and Kick. The action involves using a facing out palm while turning around the central axis horizontally. This is a similar action to Cloud Hands as well as Concealing Flowers under Leaves posture from Baguazhang. I am not sure if the inclusion was Mr. Chans or if it's in the original form. There is no name for this transition in the paperwork associated with this form or in other versions of this form that I've witnessed. It may very well be an inclusion made by Mr. Chan as it is in his version of the 24 posture form as well. This is an excellent method when your shoulders are attacked or when your opponents hand passes your first line of defense . Once your opponents hand passes into your elbows zone his elbow will be available for you to capture. It can be used in free fighting as well as push hands practice...
