Using the dantian (tan tien) properly in tai chi chuan (taijiquan) and qigong practice is crucial. Most people don't even know what "dan tian" means. The dan tian may be the lost link to making tai chi and qi gong the arts of spiritual and alchemical transformation instead of just for health and basic martial arts techniques. The term "dan tian" comes from old Taoist alchemical waidan and neidan practices. Used properly, it may slow down or reverse the aging / ageing process. It may also be the missing key to Taoism's implied law of attraction and manifestation arts. Master Jou Tsung Hwa was renowned for his heavy emphasis on qi cultivation via the dan tian. Shifu Loretta Wollering of Internal Gardens Tai Chi speaks about this topic here and continues the curriculum of Master Jou Tsung Hwa and Tai Chi Farm.
