Proper breathing technique is central to the relaxing and health-promoting benefits of T’ai Chi. Breathing occurs in a cyclical pattern of inhalation and exhalation, always continuing one breath into the next. The breath should be slow, smooth, deep and even.

Dr. Kurt Beil is a Naturopathic Doctor and Licensed Acupuncturist with a Masters in Public Health (ND, LAc, MPH).
He is a part-time faculty member at Portland Community College, regularly teaching HE 242: Stress and Human Health. He is also a T'ai Chi practitioner and in these videos, he illustrates basic movements and techniques for relaxation and stress reduction.
