In this video, I explore the reality of Shaolin Training - looking at the way they condition their bodies for iron palm and iron shirt, discussing their flexibility, agility and tong zi gong forms, and asking how they would perform in a real fight.

Shaolin monks are no doubt capable of some incredible feats of strength, speed, and agility. From throwing toothpicks through glass, to performing two finger handstands, they verge on superhuman. Shaolin training likewise involves a lot of unusual and creative methods to test their strength and determination.

But there is also a lot of myth surrounding Shaolin training and it's important we separate this out from the reality. The truth? Shaolin monks are not bothered about how they'd perform in a 'real fight', because their training, conditioning, and qi gong (chi kung), is more about seeking enlightenment and contentment.
