QIGong Liver Exercises (2019) - Part 5 - Easy to Follow - QiGong for Beginners

QiGong Liver Exercises (2019) - Part 5 - Easy to Follow - QiGong for Beginners

This video is a sequence of simple QiGong Exercises that focus on the LIVER. It is a part of a set of QiGong Exercises for the Liver Meridian. It's also a is a GREAT INTRODUCTION TO QIGONG. It is a SHORT QIGONG FLOW.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine the Liver Meridian is linked to the Wood Element and these exercises focus on working and moving stagnate Qi Energy and stimulating the Liver Meridian. This will help improve blood and qi flow, levelling out imbalances in the liver qi, improving negative emotional qualities associated with the liver such as anger, rage, frustration and mood swings. The routine utilises two QiGong movements. Firstly one called 'Circling to the Liver' and the second called 'Send Bends for the Liver Meridian'. These cleanse, nourish and improve the Liver and its functionality by cultivating, moving and working the Qi through the associated Meridian. These exercises encourage good health and wellbeing. The movements also work your major muscles in a gentle, low impact manner, get your body moving and help in developing that mind body connection to help you relax.

The video shows a warm up (0:27), then explains and practises each of the moves (Circling to the Liver 2:31 and Send Bends for the Liver Meridian 4:33), combining them into a simple to follow QiGong Flow (6:31)

This set is great to practise on as a SHORT QIGONG FLOW or A DAILY QIGONG ROUTINE. Always perform movements within your own comfort zone and limitations so please do listen to your own body.

Tai Chi and QiGong can deliver great benefits to your health and fitness, as well as both your mental and physical well being when practised on a regular basis.

Always exercise within your own comfort zone and within your own range of motion by listening to your body. Stay relaxed and tension free at the joints so that you do not overstretch. Focus on calm breathing, deeper than you would normally if you can, and really develop the feeling of each movement. FEEL YOUR OWN FLOW.

Remember to take a rest and pause the video anytime you need to. Have a bottle of water near by, but not in the way, so that you can have a drink if you need to. Remember to enjoy your practise and have fun.

If you would like to develop your practise further then increase the number of repetitions of each movement, or repeat the flow sequence a few times through. Also, there is nothing better than a LIVE SESSION so search out an instructor nearby and try out a class.
