Nao the Robot does Tai Chi

Dr Emmett Kerr, Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering, programmed Nao, the robot to do some Tai-Chi to mind his mood when working from home. Nao is one of the robots that resides (usually) at the Intelligent System Research Centre at Magee Campus. Introduce Nao to your family and friends and you can tell them studying Maths at school can lead to interesting work like this.
The Centre provides a state-of-the-art research environment including laboratories for bio-inspired and neuro-engineering, brain-computer interfacing, computational neuroscience, cognitive robotics and, instrumentation along with facilities for research in ambient intelligence and wireless sensor networks.
