How Slow is Slow in Tai Chi?

How slow am I supposed to go in Taiji (Tai Chi)? In this video, I'll answer that question and give you a beginner's introduction to the correct tempo.

And by the way, if you're wondering if Taiji is ALWAYS so slow, the answer to that is no!

I hope you enjoy this video and find it helpful. On this channel, you'll find videos about the benefits, techniques and joys of playing Taiji (T'ai Chi). Every week I upload another great lesson, tip or Tai Chi Hack. (BTW - don't forget to leave comments!)

Here is the schedule of new uploads - so check back each week. Better yet - SUBSCRIBE! ;-)

Tuesdays: Great Courses series / Gaiam videos series
Wednesdays: New Lessons for Beginners
Thursdays: Tai Chi in Paradise series

If you don't know me yet - I've been teaching Taiji for more than 30 years. I am the featured lecturer in the Great Courses series "The Essentials of Tai Chi and Qigong," and host of the PBS special "T'ai Chi, Health and Happiness." I represented the USA at the first World Wushu Championships in Beijing in 1991, and was the only non-Asian out of 45 teams to win a medal. Now I'm using the internet to connect to students all across the world - and I'd love to share everything I've learned with you.

Oh by the way - I also offer FREE live streaming classes 7 days/week at daviddorianross.com. Come join me (and about 50 of my closest friends) and see how much fun Taiji can be. See you soon ... in the next class!
