WALKING THE CIRCLE IS THE USE.
Walking the circle is the use. This simple motto is often neglected by pratictioners. So I try to lecture here on using bagua walking the circle as an effective use. I use as the most useful stance a Yin style Snake bagua stance (inverted stance) but I feel that every Bagua system has a similar stance, maybe with another name (for ex. yedi canghua) . Snake stance soon trasforms in Phoenix stance, when extending the arm. Extending the Phoenix wing (also called KAI ZHANG ‘opening palm’ ) functions as a scouting device, to find the opponent's arm and so to make contact or soon getting back. The contact may develop in a grab if possible and anyway it explores the space before yourselves. The most important feature of inverted Snake stance is the fact that it entices an opponent's attack to your face.
