My circle walking practice. palms 1 - 8, holding the static postures. The animal postures in the system my teacher taught, are: Eagle; Tiger; Dragon; Horse; Monkey; Ox; Lion; Bear.

Baguazhang Circle Walking Practice - The foundation of this martial art. It combines stance training with qigong, strength and conditioning the legs, and strength and conditioning the torso and upper body and arms, while in constant motion. It also trains footwork. The upper body static postures are from my teacher's Baguazhang. The postures done in order are: 1. Eagle; 2. Tiger; 3. Dragon; 4. Horse; 5. Monkey; 6. Ox; 7. Lion; 8. Bear. The stepping method is Tang Ni Bu (muddy step) and turning steps are Ko Bu and Bai Bu (toe-in step and toe-out step aka hook step and swing step). My teacher for 16 years, was Great Grandmaster Jiang Hao-Quan (b. Jan 1916 - d. Jan 2012). I was his student from 1996, until his death, in 2012. May he rest in peace.
